Description
For the 2021 edition of its East London Single Malt, the East London Liquor Company team picked an intriguing (and varied) selection of casks to create a magnificent expression. This one was built using whisky aged in red wine, regenerated French oak, Sonoma rye and bourbon, Kentucky bourbon, and even their own London Rye casks. Complex and fascinating stuff, whether served neat or in cocktails. Always exciting to see more and more from the ELLC folks – keep 'em coming, team!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cooked orchard fruits and honeyed porridge, with hints of savoury oak and freshly crushed kitchen spices.
Palate
Caramel, peanuts, damsons, allspice and caraway, some tangy tropical fruit notes appearing after a few moments.
Finish
Oatcakes, orange oil, buttery toffee.
