Another fabulous organic whisky from Domaine Des Hautes Glaces, this expression has been dubbed Ampelos. The name hails from Greek for 'the vine', which is rather appropriate seeing as it's aged in Condrieu wine barrels for 50 months (or just over four years, if that's how you like to measure time). It was bottled at cask strength, 52.5% ABV, with a release of 584 bottles.
Nose: Candied ginger and honeyed baking spices, with white florals and lemon curd.
Palate: Buttery oak and spiced chocolate, with sweet malt and cooked plum.
Finish: Honeyed walnuts and creamy almond.
