It's the fifth wonderful batch of Deanston single malt, lovingly bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The label of this 18 year old expression gives hints towards Deanston's founding in the 1960s. It's not a bad view of the distillery those hippies have from the roof of their campervan...
Batch 5 is a release of 148 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Golden barley, charred oak and boiled orange sweets, followed by cinnamon and bruised orchard fruit.
Palate
Salted caramel, marmalade and a little gingerbread initially, then oily nuttiness, pink grapefruit bitterness and a soft, floral vanilla undertone develop.
Finish
Tropical fruit salad and a prickle of baking spice linger.
