A fabulous bottle of 18 year old Deanston, bottled by Hannah Whisky Merchants. This Highlander was distilled in 2000, matured in a bourbon cask followed by a finish in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry octave for four months. It was then bottled in 2018 at cask strength for the Lady of the Glen series. Only 60 bottles of this whisky were produced.
Dried apricot, buttery flaky pastry and fresh white stone fruits with a hit of sherry sweetness.
Cloves, sweet orange peel and a generous helping of sweet, sticky and spicy cinnamon bun.
A malty finish with a drizzle of honey and a kick of ginger spice following through.

I’ve had this bottle for over a year and I can’t get used to a note of smoked ham. It ruins the whole experience for me, especially at this price.
