Deanston 17 Year Old 2002 Pinot Noir Cask Finish
The team at Deanston (I wonder if they're called the Teamston...?) got their hands on some Pinot Noir casks and used them to mature some whisky for the first time! This expression is a 17 year old single malt, which enjoyed a finishing period in the aforementioned Pinot Noir casks. Enjoyably fruity, with lots of green apple and grape notes to enjoy.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Freshly sliced green apples, with a hint of leafy forest floor earthiness and soft vanilla.
Palate
More vanilla and apple, now with subtly sharp green grape coming though.
Finish
Milky tea, lemon and malt.
