Deanston 15yo

An organic single malt Scotch whisky from the Deanston distillery, aged for 15 years before being bottled. Very interesting stuff from the Highland-based distillery.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Scones and brown bread. A hint of vanilla essence at the core, followed up by freshly cut grass.

Palate Fruitier than the nose suggests, with notes of apple, pear and white grapes. Still rather grassy, and a little oily at points too.

Finish White pepper and cedar.

Reviews for Deanston 15 Year Old Organic
Nice tipple
Not as good as the 18yo, but a decent drink

I’d rather have the 12 yo
OK, but too resinous for my taste. Light and bright on the palate. A drop of water and some time in the glass help, but still challenging.

I love Deanston 12 yo, and prefer that over this one. It is also less cash, and therefore a better buy.

Overall- Freshness rings through!
My nose is always off so cannot comment there.
Palate is diffently lightly apple, pear, possibly grapes.
Finish is slightly hot with cedar.

Fantastic whisky - organic designation is the icing on a damn fine cake
Lovely crisp nose with some bread pudding, fruitier on the palate and nicely complex with an alluring dryness that is not overpowering. Finish is fresher again with some citrus and medium long. Excellent

Refreshing yet complex
Had to comment on this one of my favourites. Definitely one for people who like their whiskies fresh. There's a white wine quality to the nose. Palate has light citrus and a kind of bright buttery warm sweetness with slightly hot pepper in the finish.
