Nose: Full of dried fruit and spice notes, with wafts of peat smoke, suggestions of sweet walnut and a slight mulchiness. An aroma of sticky toffee pudding lingers throughout.
Palate: Dense bramble fruit, syrupy plums and raw, sweet spices with herbaceous, almost tea leaf-like notes lead, before oaky tannins and a little dried barley rise.
Finish: A long, rich finish. Bonfire embers give a toastiness to the palate flavours.
Overall: An intriguing dram that carries all the hallmarks of a Moscatel cask finish.
