A sextuple-wood bottling from Dalmore. This auspiciously-named single malt Scotch whisky was matured in wine, Madeira, Sherry, Marsala, Kentucky bourbon and Port casks. King Alexander III is a rich, fruity Highland single malt.
Malty and utterly Dalmore. Seville orange zest, Parfait Amour, malty cereal, barley and chocolate. Creamy vanilla fudge, tropical fruit with a vaguely vinous quality.
Medium, rounded. Winter berries, spice, zesty orange. Liqueurs emerge; Grand Marnier, kirsch and Frangelico.
Peppery with well-integrated oak and the claret makes a last minute appearance.
I have had a number of whiskys in my time and I can safely say this is the best I have had. Sublime.
Its a nice dram. On the nose its a creamy fudge, hints if vanilla. Its so smooth on the palate, a well balanced dram, loads of fudge and to end comes a pepper texture, works well. Dont get me wrong this is a nice dram and I could drink this all the time but the price is way out. Its so expensive, you could get so many other bottles for half the price and still have a great dram. I doubt il go for this again due to the price. If this was £100 id be all over it but its way out for me.
Smooth, sweet caramel, touch of smoke. Just lovely, however 12yr old Blair Athol Flours for £50 was as enjoyable.
A very smooth whisky full of flavor I would highly recommend this as it has a beautiful balance
An amazing dram absolutely love it definitely my favourite
