This splendid Speysider hails from Dailuaine, and spent two decades maturing before it was independently bottled by Forgotten Gems. The outturns are always pretty small with the Forgotten Gems collection, and there are only 36 bottles of this one – will one of them be yours?
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sugar-dusted shortbread, praline, and burnt caramel are followed by fragrant notes of cedar, and gently zesty, herbaceous malt.
Palate
That herbaceous character carries through with a subtle hint of menthol and delicate dry smoke backed by oily barley, walnut loaf, Toffee Pennies, and peppery warmth.
Finish
An earthy finish, with a drying touch of clove.
