We split our 9 bottle allocation of this whisky between a 30ml dram lottery, a bottle lottery, and a charity auction (timeline below). Why all the fuss? Read more about this approach over on the blog.
In mid-2019, the Daftmill Distillery released a series of single cask expressions, all of which were distilled back in 2006. This particular bottling was released as a UK exclusive - it was matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel until 2019, when it was bottled at cask strength with an very small outturn of 234 bottles. Though only a few of Daftmill's whiskies have seen the light of day, they've all been very impressive indeed - and this one follows suit.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Dried apple crisps and pear drops, alongside biscuit dough, vanilla and hickory.
Palate Grassy as it opens, giving way to more vanilla and a touch of floral malt. Orange peels, red chilli flake, macadamia nuts and gooseberry.
Finish Still slightly floral, though the toasty oak has the last word.
