Craigellachie 17 Year Old 70cl Whisky

“Don't get me wrong, it's really really satisfying whisky but I'm sitting here with two tasting glasses, one for the 13 the other for the 17. I've been drinking the 13 for a while and adore the feel, the balance, the syrupy finish and long, lingering chocolate caramel. There's nothing wrong with the 17, it is also wonderfully meaty, full bodied, with luscious oak, vanilla, chocky, spice and dried fruit. It's just that every time I go back to the 13, I think "damn that's good". The 17 is almost twice the price. I'll keep it in the cabinet and sup it from time to time but I'll go on buying the 13. In fact I may lay in some stock in case it all goes.”
