An ace addition to the Darkness range of independently bottled whiskies, which focuses on delicious sherry finishes! This single malt from Craigellachie spent a decade maturing, including a rest in Oloroso sherry casks. Craigellachie's meaty Speyside character always lends itself well to a stay in a sherry cask, so we're expecting a big, bold character here.
Robust notes of roasted malt lead, with poached pear and burnt sugar, while wafts of leathery oak and peppery spice linger in the distance.
Sweet, sherried fruits and Madeira cake with dried apricot and sultanas. Crystalised ginger brings warmth alongside bold oak char and meaty, spicy malt.
