Craigellachie 10 Year Old - Derestricted
The Derestricted independent bottling range is for those of you who like to know every little detail about a subject – specifically distilleries. Oh, and tasty whisky of course, like this 10-year-old single malt from the Craigellachie Distillery, boasting a fab flavour profile of brown sugar, oatmeal and earthy spices. The label is chockablock with Craigellachie facts and figures, perfect for impressing your friends. You might have to twist the conversation a bit to lead it in that direction, mind. "Hey, speaking of bangers and mash, did you know that Craigellachie uses a full lauter mash tun? And larch washbacks! Who knew, eh?"
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dry cereals, hay, oatmeal with coconut flakes, toasted cedar, old dunnage warehouses, with fruity hints of pear drops and grapefruit developing in the glass.
Palate
Subtle chocolate, with more warming oatmeal notes continuing. Cooked apples and plums. Slightly earthy at points.
Finish
Nice biscuits, black pepper, pine nuts, brown sugar.
