Single Malt
1 Jan 2010
1 Jan 2013
A peated single malt Japanese whisky from the Chichibu range, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2013. For this release, they peated the barley to 59.6 PPM, resulting in a richly smoky flavour profile (the previous batch was peated to 52 PPM).
Light barley and berry notes, balanced with robust helpings of peat - both earthy and coastal peat come through clearly.
A little citrus as it opens, before developing big, meaty wafts of smoke. Tobacco, more barley and a hint of heather honey.
Continued meatiness and touches of oak spice.

Mental stuff one of my favs from the distillery tour a few years ago.
Picked it up in Japan it self but I have to say this is one of the best I have ever had. Great on the nose and taste a very relaxed afther drink. Truely one of a kind and one I recommend to everybody.
