The Cardrona - The Falcon
From Cardona Distillery comes The Falcon, a New Zealand single malt made from a vatting of three casks. This includes an oloroso butt, a bourbon barrel, and a Pinot Noir barrique, the former was filled in March 2016, and the latter two in May 2016. It was bottled at 52% ABV with no added colour or chill-filtration.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Crème brûlée, stone fruit, peppery spice, orange peel, and oak varnish.
Palate
Caramel, vanilla, and allspice lead with candied fruit and nectarines in support.
Finish
Rich and rewarding.
