A well-balanced, gentle single malt from Speyside. Cardhu 12 is a very well put together malt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Good body, decent sweetness, richness. Streaks of smoke, apple peels, bruised pears.

Palate: Smooth, rounded, gentle sweetness, soft peat. A little smoke whispers sweet nothings.

Finish: Long, dry smoke, malty touch of peat.

Cardhu 12 Year Old Reviews

Excellent for the dosh

F this is good. Bought on a whim at Denner in Switzerland as whisky prices have soared here lately. Was expecting brittle straw but got elegant, sweet smoked hay. Excellent for the money.

The best.

For all those who haven't tried this whiskey you are definitely missing out. One of the best 12 year old's.

Definitely 5 star rating.

Been buying this brand of whisky for years from 10 year old, 12 year old and the (18 year old on occasions). This 12 year malt is fantastic love it a lot, one of the best whiskys that I've been drinking.

Quire nice.

Exceptionally smooth for a Scotch. Flavours all very mellow, nothing overpowering. Each sip is like someone describing its flavours to you. Vaguely peppery and peaty.
A drink you can unwind to just before bedtime.
Will buy again.

Worth to try

Not as great as gold reserve but still giving decent satisfaction.

An ok for a beginner intro to peat.

I'm a fan of Speyside single malts, yet this one was underwhelming. To me, it's very similar to the less expensive Highland Park 12. In some ways, it's bested by the former. If you're a fan of either, a massive step up is Craigellachie.

My go-to malt whisky

Absolutely love this malt. My go-to for good honest value for money whisky when on special offer (which it occasionally is).

Lovely stuff – very moreish

Very smooth and easy to drink. This is really well-balanced and subtle whisky, one with hints of orchard fruit, cream, and smoke, but nothing overpowering the senses. It is very pleasant and probably one I'd by as a 'go to close whisky to suit almost any occasion.
