Caperdonich 22 Year Old

Single malt Scotch whisky from the sadly closed Caperdonich distillery, which we've bottled for our Single Cask Series. The distillery began life with the catchy name Glen Grant #2, but soon closed a few years later, then reopened in the '60s only to close once again in 2002. This whisky was distilled back in June 1995 and matured in a bourbon cask for 22 years, before we bottled in in May 2018 at cask strength.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Mmmm what a rich smell: tobacco, walnuts and fruitcake.

Palate Dark spices and muscovado sugar, oily, meaty texture with an earthy wild edge to it.

Finish Peppery finish, long with a little sweetness coming through on the end.

Overall A whisky with dark secrets.

Reviews for Caperdonich 22 Year Old 1995 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) (59.2%)
Finest cask strength I have ever tasted
It is little short of catastrophic that this superb cask strength is sold out. I have to say, it is about the finest cask strength I have ever tasted, and if I could I would buy a dozen bottles. It packs a punch as you would expect, but it also has a sweet and finely-balance flavour that is a pure delight.
