Caol Ila 12 Year Old 2010 (batch 23/044) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
What a lovely drop this from the clever cogs at Gordon & MacPhail, taking Caol Ila single malt and finishing it in red wine casks that previously contained the famous Super Tuscan classic Sassicaia. The 2010 vintage single malt was aged for a total of 12 years before it was bottled in 2023 at 45% ABV without colouring or chill filtration for the Connoisseurs Choice range.

Nose
Stewed fruits, oily lemon peel, demerara sugar, cured meat, and bonfire smoke.
Palate
Charred pineapple, Medjool dates, earthy peat, and caramel.
Finish
Supple and sweet with a balanced measure of smoke.
