Distilled in 2013, bottled in 2023, this 10-year-old single malt from Caol Ila spent its final nine months resting in a palo cortado sherry cask. The cask was opened by James Eadie, independently releasing a total of 315 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Chalky barley, salty spray, and waves of tarry peat, with vanilla shortbread in tow.
Palate
Oily malt and cakey spice cushion layers of herbaceous, vegetal peat, flamed citrus, and earthy ash, while dried fruits nestle in the depths.
Finish
A touch of pepper joins, while sweet stewed fruits balance vegetal seaweed and sooty smoke.
