Been drinking CC & 7up since before I was...... well....am 48 now, have drank bottles of this stuff at weddings and have never been sick. Hangover yes, but not like a wine hangover. For some reason my body handles it fine, like the effects of the alcohol, smooth, nice mixer with sprite, 7up, ginger ale, or any of these in diet varieties if you're "counting calories. " Always have a handle in the house, mix up 2 strong ones (5-6 second pour) mixed with a little 7up to take the edge off a rough day. Its my staple, unless the week is really rough then its on to straight Beefeaters with a little olive juice (dirty) and 3 blue cheese olives, martini, 3 of these in 2 hours or less and who cares about the week?
I keep coming back to Canadian Club Original 1858.......of course you can spend more, but if you're going to enjoy it mixed with Canada Dry Ginger Ale, why bother? This is my go to drink and if you add just a dash of lime juice or lemon juice, you just can't beat this! The taste is superb and for the price I just don't see how you can go wrong.
At first I didn't like it, then it became ok, and in the end I got tired of it.
For a downright inexpensive whisky, it is pretty darn good, smooth, sweet and pleasant. Sure, I enjoy some of the really expensive stuff more. However CC is "that" inexpensive whisky that actually tastes good enough to drink neat. Much like the elusive good cheap bottle of wine. Something that cannot be said of it's harsh and objectionable cheap competitors. I give it 4 stars, based on it's price point and quality.
Suave, Dulce y con algo Vegetal, Bueno para los Mix.
