The Caledonian distillery is sadly shut, but their whisky remains available through indie bottlings like this! It's a Valinch & Mallet Lost Drams Collection bottliong of 29 year old Caledonian single grain, distilled in 1987 and left to mature in a bourbon hogshead until 2016. 146 bottles were produced.

Nose
Dried apricot and apple, with underlying earthiness.
Palate
Soft oak, sugared peels, a kick of cumin powder.
Finish
Wave after wave of caramel - a very long finish.
