    Bushmills Black Bush

If you've been in a bar (any bar, really), you've more than likely seen a bottle of this on the shelf. One of the most well-known Irish blends, Bushmills Black Bush features a lot of sherried malt in its recipe, alongside classically caramel-y grain whiskey. Suitable for enjoying neat, but it can also be used in whiskey cocktails that call for dark fruit sweetness...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Over-ripe grape and light citrus on the nose. A touch of toffee and peanut.

    Palate

Vanilla and milk bottle sweeties. Dried peels, chamomile tea and cinnamon sticks.

    Finish

Digestive biscuit, cooked plum and orange oil.

    It okay but not great!

Tried it next to the Bushmills original and was surprised how it faded somewhat in comparison. Not a bad whiskey by any means though, just nothing special.

    It’s Decent

Bushmills is a consistent, quality product across the range. I have never quite understood the praise heaped upon this particular version. It is nicely falvored, yet like most Bushmills, it simply lacks a little something. Sometimes it seems to have a rather hollow middle, sometimes it seems to drop off a cliff at the end. However you look at it, at around $36 in my locale, I tend to pass over it.

    Smooth and woodsy

Found a 375 ml for 10 bucks at a hole in the wall liquor store down south. I bought the 3 bottles they had. Totally marked down, and accepted. :) I Taste- very vanilla notes accompanied with a smooth smoky aftertaste. I am drinking this with ice. I agree with the biscuit reference, it’s oaky and smooth. One of my favorites actually.

    11 years old chocolate!!!!

I've had had a lot of whisky in my life: single malts, bourbons, blends and etc. But this one is my end for the whiskey journey. I only drink one that a lot off years now and I have stock about 12 bottles:P Love it best whiskey in the best price

This is a great Irish whiskey

Flavour-wise there's a lot more going on than in something like Jameson or Paddy, but it retains the smoothness that is characteristic of Irish whiskies. Mixes beautifully, and is interesting enough to sip on its own.
