    Bunnahabhain Toiteach a Dhà

If the movie industry has proven anything (apart from Tom Hanks being a treasure), it's that people love a good sequel. Well, that idea is coming over to the whisky world - this right here is Bunnahabhain's Toiteach a Dhà, which means "Smoky Two" in Gaelic. It's the sequel to their popular peaty treat Bunnahabhain Toiteach, featuring a much more up-front core of sherried spice shining out between the smoky plumes.

Bunnahabhain, but different. In a good way

Sharper, sweeter, more sherried than the 12yo, with a modest, well integrated peaty tang. Makes a nice change from the 12, for similar money. Nicely different. Will buy again

    Just in case ---Good attempt

Seeing as Bunna don't do peaty whisky this IS a good attempt Have appreciated Bunna whisky before even though I am a peat head so had to see what this was like . This WILL surprise you the peat shines through nicely with just a slight hint of sherry I apologise if this is almost a repeat of my last review but something seemed to go wrong when submitting it

    Just enough peat

This is my favourite from the core range. I think it starts out sweet like sherry, nose has a raisin note, touch of cherry. On the palette it’s similar cherry and then the peated barley starts a weird effect, tastes like smoked fish chucked in a brown bag of sea salt, the finish is exquisite and dry pepper n salt. It’s a great dram, adding water opens the flavours up but adds no extra depth really.

    Deicious

I find it slightly better with a small ice cube, allowed to melt, to cool it very slightly from room temperature. Superb with a piece of mature cheddar or plain chocolate. Well balanced and really smooth. Though my palate is a little unrefined sherry is present along with gentle smoke and peat undertones. Best of their core/budget range by far.

    NICE ADDITION

Bought to try like it Tried on a smoke lover lady she thought it was ok she added a touch of water and said wow that is the real deal Say no more
