From Islay's mighty Bunnahabhain distillery, this single malt makes an immensely impressive addition to the Cask Strength Collection Rare Reserve from independent bottler Signatory as it celebrates its 35th anniversary. Distilled in 1975, the whisky spent 48 years maturing in an oloroso sherry cask, yielding a total outturn of 361 bottles when it was opened in 2023.
wonderful nose, spent almost 15 min before I actually took a sip, which did not disappoint. All the dark fruits, mostly dark ones, worn leather, tobacco, sweeter then I expected but perfectly balanced.
