Bunnahabhain 18 Old

An older bottling of Bruichladdich 18 Year Old, released sometime before 2010. The bottles don't look too dissimilar today, boasting the same broad shape, and, most importantly, the trusty sea captain on the front.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Full, doughy. Cereals, warm pastries, lightly salted butter. Some bruised fruit emerges with a hint of smoke. Iodine. Malt, apple peel.

Palate Quite dry, bruised apple, pear sweetness. A definite burnt character emerges: smoked ham, spent matches.

Finish Short, but pleasant. Burnt pastry, smoke.

Reviews for Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old pre-2010
the delicate islay,with full flavor
it's nice to see bunnahabhain un-chillfilted and no e-150 color added.at 46.3 alcohol level it's smooth as silk.this is one the finest drams i have had a long time.the 12 year is the one i am talking about.did not like the other versions 12 year color added and chill filtered.i hope the rest of the scotch whisky distillers follow suit.it should taste the best it can be,not look as good as it can be.take out the caramel and no chill-castration,better taste better sales. listen up you scots!!!!!!

extremely well-balanced
Not a peat lover but this one displays a very rich and subtle balance between smokey, salty and sweet...my favorite Islay

I always preferred Lagavulin or Laphroig . . . . .until I tried this, very close to being my favourite Islay malt, try it!
