Bulleit Bourbon Bottling Note

Enjoy Bulleit Bourbon like the Americans do! Previously it has been bottled at 40% ABV for the UK market, but now you can get the Frontier Whiskey at 45% ABV, just like they have in Kentucky. A stunning whiskey that won a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012.

Give this a go in a smashing Mint Julep cocktail following the recipe below!

60ml Bulleit Bourbon

20ml Simple syrup (1 part sugar to 1 part water)

8-10 mint leaves, and three mint sprigs.

Pack a julep cup with crushed ice so it can start getting nice and cold. In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, syrup, and mint leaves. Use a muddler to lightly bruise the leaves in the glass to release their flavour, then strain the contents into your julep cup. Garnish with three nice big sprigs of mint, (give them a little pat first, to release their minty aromas!) – then stick a straw in close by.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Bright with orange zest, toasted oak and vanilla.

Palate: Further orange notes, followed by some warming winter spices and a hint of tobacco leaf.

Finish: Smooth and spicy.

Overall: A new style of Bulleit (at least for us), but it's still as brilliant as ever!

My favourite bourbon by miles.
As a confirmed scotch drinker, I have to say that this is my favourite bourbon by a distance. Much more complex than most, without the cloying sweetness that spoils most bourbons. Reasonably priced also - well worth keeping in your drinks cabinet for when you fancy a change from scotch.

Highly recommend
Still one of my favorite bourbons and overall it's sold at a good price. A must-have.

A bourbon to win over Scotch drinkers. It did me!
Undoubtedly the best bourbon I have had. Usually I am a firm fan of Scotch only.
Bulleit desn't suffer from the cloying sweetness of some bourbons. Has a kick but not a burn. Surprising depth of taste and character.
This was a genuine delight to sip from a hefty crystal tumbler watching some wild west yarns. Absolutely recommend to any whiskey drinker and even to those who aren't.

Unbelievably good
You can tell a true whisky drinker if they tell you they can't stand "Bells." I can't stand "Bells," I have tried many, many different whiskys, whiskeys, rums and bourbons. I have just been given Bulleit Bourbon as a gift and can tell anyone thinking of trying it, it is beautiful. Smooth, sweet and gloriously satisfying. Just ordered a bottle for my son.

Excellent taste, warm with a lovely kick.
I've only just began my whisky journey, previously trying a few cheap supermarket shelf bottles which were nothing special. I work for asda and get 10% discount, plus its a double discount day, plus this was at a special price of only £20, it would be rude not to buy it.

The only other serious whisky I've tried is jura which I really liked, this however has beaten it, I'm not at a stage where I can describe a whisky and the reasons I like it etc, all I can say is I definitely like it alot, both straight and mixed it is excellent.

Best at the price
For the money, this is the best there is, the spice from the rye giving it a good balance

Was my favourite, was great value for money. Was the best. Has lost it. really sad.
This was my go to Bourbon for years. But when Diageo took the production in-house (I have been working at Diageo, I was actually working at Diageo at this time) It was a big dissapointment. The depth with rich rye and pepper was lost, replaced by a thin medicine tasting alcohol that only had hints back to what it once was. Sorry really Sorry Bulleit, but I have moved on. I sometimes drink the old stuff at a friends house. He has a few of old bottles... It was a great whiskey. It was my favourite bourbon.
