Port Charlotte PC10

It's the PC10 expression from Bruichladdich powerfully peaty Port Charlotte series of releases. This release also marked 10 years of Allan Logan, who became the youngest distillery manager in Scotland, working with Jim McEwan. This was referenced in this expression's subtitle, 'Tro Na Linntean', which means 'Through the Generations'. Only 6,000 bottles of PC10 were released.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed info and/or photos just get in touch!

Reviews for Port Charlotte PC10
Great Islay expression with a great balance between ex-wine flavors and vegetal peat. 91/100
Nose: beautiful bouquet of dried fruit, specifically dark grape or sherry with hints of dried apricot and of course raisin (25% ex-wine casking comes thru for sure); there is smoke, oak and peat on the nose too, but surprisingly subtle. Alcohol and menthol, lime or lemon zest as you continue wafting.
Palate: surprisingly the wine-cask flavors show first, with a very rich peatiness pressing itself close behind. These flavors of dark grapes and burnt peat are, in fact wonderful as they meld inside your mouth, wiith oily texture and a stunning richness of flavor. There is a considerable alcohol burn though, (100 proof), and that is is really the only flaw here.
Finish: the finish is the best part and where the flavors take you on a ride. Deep flavors of dark grapes and sea brine, smoke, and bog peat linger in a pleasant oiliness.
