The Character of Islay Whisky Company
Scotland
Single Malt
An indie 9 year old single malt from Bruichladdich, released under the Port Charlotte name. This one is a peated expression, distilled in 2011 and independently bottled nearly a decade later by The Character of Islay Whisky Company as part of the Stories of Wind & Wave series. This bottling range is dedicated to the brilliance of Islay whisky, and it does a great job of showing it off in all its glory.
Roast chestnuts, cinnamon cookies, damp oak and a whisper of tobacco.
Medicinal peat smoke arrives on the palate, joined by fresh cherry, vanilla and subtle violet hints.
Just a smidge of molasses and vanilla sneak out behind continued smoky salinity.
