Joining the superbly sherried Darkness range of independently bottled whiskies comes this smashing single malt from Bruichladdich! It's a peated expression, distilled under the Port Charlotte name, and has spent 14 years maturing, including a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The peated malt and sherried influence combine to create a delightfully decadent dram - just look at that rich, dark hue!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Gristy malt with dark wafts of cocoa and redcurrants. Herbaceous notes of salty seaweed are balanced by fragrant notes of old leather.

Palate: A complex array of sweet dried fruits, earthen peat smoke, and briney salinity mingles, with hints of salt and pepper crisps and oily oak.

Finish: Coastal bonfire notes linger, with tarry smoke and earthen baking spice.
