Description

Edition 17.1 in Bruichladdich's series of heavily peated Octomore single malt delivers a powerful introduction to the 17 Series. Distilled from Scottish mainland Concerto barley malted to 81PPM, this single malt spent its full five-year maturation in bourbon barrels for a vibrant medley of smoke and char.

Nose

Creamy notes of vanilla milkshake and crumbly fudge, toasted oak, and drying peat smoke.

Palate

Warm custard, oaken vanilla, and pear drops open the way as layers of earthy smoke build, with smouldering oak and ash in tow.

Finish

Coastal salinity cuts through the sweetness and smoke.
