Octomore 10 Year Old 2007 (Release No.10233) - The Stories of Wind & Wave (The Character of Islay Whisky Company)

A heavily peated single malt from the Bruichladdich Distillery, released under the Octomore name, bottled by The Character of Islay Whisky Company for The Stories of Wind & Wave series. The indie bottling range is all about showing off the brilliant whiskies from Islay, and this supremely smoky single malt is indeed fantastic. Interestingly, it was drawn from Chateau d'Yquem casks, introducing a touch of sweetness to the mix.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Waves of drying smoke and cantaloupe, with a hint of fresh linin in there too.

    Palate

Sea salt, more fiery peat, a slow build of white grape sweetnes.

    Finish

New leather, peach, poached pear and another helping of peppery smoke.
