Bruichladdich 27yo TBWC Bottling Note

That Boutique-y Whisky Company has reached its 20th batch of independently bottled Bruichladdich single malt Scotch whisky! This time, they've bottled up a marvellous 27 year expression from the inventive Islay-based distillery, and it shows off why being from Islay doesn't mean a whisky needs to be packed with peat to be excellent. Loads of little in-jokes and references to old Bruichladdich bottlings on the label, which will make for good pondering material while you enjoy a dram.

Batch 20 is a release of 175 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Aromatic and packed with orchard fruits, especially apple and pear. There’s a suggestion of salt dough, with red cherry, peach, honey and perhaps a lick of bergamot bringing a richly floral sense.

Palate: More of those honeyed florals, peppery cinnamon, strawberry jam tarts, salt and sweet popcorn, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, milk chocolate, and apple custard, all with a creamy mouthfeel.

Finish: Rich, warm and moderately long, with chocolate-covered fruit notes.
