A 15 year old single malt from the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, and a rather well-sherried one at that! It was distilled in 2005 and matured in a first-fill sherry hogshead until 2021, when it was bottled up by The Red Cask Co. at cask strength – a hefty 63.1% ABV. A total of 295 bottles were produced.
Fruit cake, dense vanilla and raisin, with hints of dusty oak developing later on.
Hugely chocolatey, plus more dried fruit and a waft of cigar box.
Cassia, cinnamon, dark chocolate, and menthol.

Dry fruity Oloroso deep red sherry cask whisky. Full of flavour & aroma beautifully coloured for sherry cask whisky lovers like myself. And at 63.1% it packs a punch. With only 295 bottles limited numbers.
Unfortunately, this one is much lower than my expectation. Too strong smell of paint to the nose, while too strong cask taste. I would prefer the 12.3 rather than this one.
