Braeval 25 Year Old 1996 (cask 11430813) - The Octave (Duncan Taylor)

From Duncan Taylor's The Octave range, which is all about whisky finished in tiny octave casks, comes a 25 year old single malt distilled by Braeval! This was aged from 1996 to 2021, including a stay in an octave cask, and bottled at cask strength with an outturn of 86 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Nutty flapjacks and fresh strawberries, with a drizzle of maple syrup.

    Palate

More savoury notes come through on the palate, with nutmeg, dry oak, and spicy ginger, soon followed by another helping of maple syrup and baked goods.

    Finish

A splash of tropical fruit brightness arrives right on the finish.
