Braeval 13 Year Old 2009

Yet another excellent single malt from the North Star Spirits independent bottling range. This time, the team has got its hands on a cask of whisky from the Braeval Distillery - an Oloroso sherry butt cask, specifically. It was filled back in 2009 and housed the whisky for 13 years, before being cracked open in 2022. This expression was bottled at cask strength, with an outturn of only 341 bottles. A brill bottle for the Braeval boffins (yes, even the ones who still call it Braes of Glenlivet).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Honeyed barley and chewy dates, plus some buttered bread.

Palate Sugared almonds, chocolate chip cookies, savoury oak with a touch of vegetal sweetness to it.

Finish Lingering toasted teacake and stewed fruit.
