Braes of Glenlivet 30 Year Old - Derestricted
Here we've got a 30-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from the Braes of Glenlivet Distillery (these days known as Braeval, mind) bottled up as part of the delightful Derestricted range! Not only will you be getting some brilliant, well-aged single malt here, you'll also be getting your mitts on some knowledge, too! Y'see, that label is covered in what might be considered an overwhelming array of facts and figures about the distillery. Still shape, washback type, heat source, that type of stuff. Even if you're a Braeval boffin, we reckon there will be a few things on here that would be news to you...
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fresh linen, white grapes, coffee beans leading into softly spicy oak, linseed, coconut ice, apricot jam, gingerbread.
Palate
Perfumed malt, brown sugar, pencil shavings, tangy pineapple and mango, honey, a touch of black tea.
Finish
Lots of tropical fruit notes stick around on the finish, with a little sultana and candied ginger too.
