This is the fifth batch of Bowmore single malt Scotch whisky independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. It's a well-aged expression from the distillery on the isle of Islay, having matured for 27 years before the Boutique-y team got their grubby mitts on it (figuratively, of course - we hear their mitts are rather clean and well-kept).
Batch 5 is a release of 285 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Salted butter, aromatic cedar, a whiff of floral malt developing beside classic coastal air.
Good cider, slightly vegetal at points, smoke meat and fried banana.
Slightly oily. Sea salt, lemon-flavoured boiled sweets.
