Bowmore 24 Year Old 1997 (cask 2690) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)
This marvellous single malt from Bowmore joins the Infrequent Flyers collection from indie bottler Alistair Walker. Distilled in June 1997, the whisky was filled into a virgin oak barrel where it remained for the next 24 years. In September 2021, the time came to open up the cask, releasing a total outturn of 252 bottles of this iconic Islay whisky.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fragrant vanilla leads to floral peat smoke and seabreeze. Some citrus zest creeps in, alongside nutty oak.
Palate
Cinnamon and nutmeg build with wafts of salted caramel and pungent harbourside character, ashy smoke is lifted by soft vanilla and oak.
Finish
Lingering oak spice and sooty charcoal, a touch of honey sweetness, and rich coffee.
