A rich, sherry-matured Bowmore. Very similar to the world famous Black Bowmore, though much younger. Very intense and fruity.
Please Note:!The tube has minor rusting to the lid.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Perfumed, salty, notes of Oloroso sherry, peat smoke, blackcurrants and aniseed. Nutty, floral.
Oaky and malty. Hazelnut, barley, toffee apples, spices, Oloroso sherry. Hints of rum spice, aniseed and granary toast with melted salty butter.
Long, rum spices, nutmeg, cinnamon. Salt caramels.
We had a blind tasting of six different Islays. Sampled by nine people, Bowmore Darkest NAS was a unanimous winner. Personally, I thought the Bowmore was far and away the superior whisky, others thought it was close for the top three, but all agreed the Bowmore was best. I've yet to try the Bowmore Darkest 15YO. I'm hoping it's near the NAS.
