Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Odyssey Range champions curiosity in maturation and flavour, and this Blair Athol is a brilliant example of how unconventional wine finishes can transform a familiar distillery profile. A Viognier finish lends an aromatic, fruit-forward edge to Blair Athol’s naturally rich Highland character.
Distilled in 2011 at Blair Athol Distillery in Perthshire, this single malt matured for 14 years before bottling at 56.9% ABV from cask #308064. A total of 264 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Tropical fruit salad, honeyed brioche, soft floral notes, and a teasing savoury edge.
Palate
Coconut cream, apricot, barley sugar, mint leaf, and lemon curd wrapped in a waxy texture.
Finish
Candied ginger, toasted oak, and delicate floral sweetness.
