Founded in 2014, Ireland's Blackwater Distillery has been busy producing a range of single malt and traditional pot still Irish whisky, and now it's ready to be unleashed upon the world! This impressive inaugural collection of single cask whiskies sets out the distillery's intent to revive lost heritage and historic mash bills, using entirely Irish grown grain. The Manifesto Edition includes four 200ml bottles, plus a 64 page book, A Manifesto for Pot Still Irish Whisky written by whisky historian and co-founder of Blackwater, Peter Mulryan.
This set includes a 200ml bottle each of:
Mash Bill #08, produced from 50% Gangway and Laureate malt, 35% Laureate barley, and 15% husky oat, matured in a single bourbon cask.
Mash Bill #15, comprised of 40% Laureate barley, 30% Gangway and Laureate malt, 15% husky oat, 12% Costello wheat, and 3% Performer rye, matured in a rye cask.
Mash Bill #38, distilled from 40% Laureate barley, 40% Costello wheat, and 20% Gangway and Laureate malt, matured in an apple brandy cask.
Mash Bill #93, made from 46% Laureate barley, 35% Gangway and Laureate malt, 15% Husky oat, and 4% peated Laureate malt, matured in a sherry cask.
