Black Bottle Andean Oak

What we have is a very experimental Scotch Whisky. As far as we know, this from Black Bottle is the first to have whisky matured in virgin Andean oak casks as part of its blend. The variety is unique to Colombia and Panamá and is regarded for its ability to thrive at altitudes that others cannot. Andean oak imparts a similar character to American oak, but with more tannins and spice. It was chosen in this case to elevate the creamy, smooth grain whiskies of the blend, by finishing them for seven months in Andean oak casks with various toast and char levels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Through iodine and smoke comes hazelnut whip, figs, and fudge as well as baking spice.

Palate Layers of vanilla, honey, and smoked toffee are joined by nutmeg and cinnamon.

Finish Delicate smoke drifts through the sweet notes like nutty chocolate.

A Wee Gem
This is a fantastic whisky. Sweet with a very distinctive nuttiness. Alchemy at its best and at this price and ABV definitely worth trying I reckon!

Lovely blended Whisky
For the price and at 46.3 ABV, this cannot be beaten. The smoke goes through nicely. For the price and ABV, its a winner.

Great Dram, even better price
Absolutely loved this dram and the spice notes were top notch. Not sure you'll find as good a whisky at this price point.
