Sutherland 2000 (bottled 2021) (cask 1432) - Berry Bros. & Rudd
A Highland single malt here, independently bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd. Though the name of the distillery behind this whisky has not been revealed, what we do know is that it's a fab expression distilled in 2000 and left to age until 2021 in a hogshead cask. 488 bottles were produced (and they're rather handsome indeed, with Berry Bros. & Rudd redesigning its packaging in mid-2021).
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Citrus peels, apricot jam, a hint of snuffed candle and old oak furniture.
Palate
Flaky pastry juxtaposed with crisp orchard fruit, with soft smoke drifting through.
Finish
A smidge of tobacco and gingerbread biscuits.
