The team at the legendary independent bottler Berry Brother's and Rudd specially selected a blend of sherry cask single malts to create this classic example of a well-sherried Scotch whisky.
It is one of the four offerings released as part of The Classic Range which was launched in the spring of 2018. It's great value for money and should be a treat for those who love a big sherry bomb.
Blood orange juice, brown sugar and dried fruit lead with a hint of charred pineapple and perhaps some rancio.
Black fruit compote, herbal tea and a little bitter dark chocolate. Seville orange marmalade and fiery cinnamon add depth.
Christmas cake notes remain.

If anyone calls this a bomb it's pretty obvious they haven't been anywhere near proper sherry munitions (dronach, farclas, aberlour et al)
Never tried a blended malt until this . WOW . FOR ME ITS A FULL.ON COFFEE TOFFEE CARAMEL VANILLA TREACLE FEST . Let it sit for a minute or 2 then let it warm up . By the time you've reached the last sip it's a bar of dark coffee toffee chocolate . At this price buy 2 .
opens with concentrated oj and dried fruits, then in mouth, which has quite a nice feel, there are blackcurrent and marmalade. good spicy/oaky finish. slighty harsh, but for this price totally acceptable. An undoubted and unashamed sherry bomb.. For under £30 it has to collect 5 stars at least. struth
I purchased a bottle on the recommendation of a fellow Malt whisky aficionado.; and a bootle as a gift. I was concerned that there was no age information, as I normally do not buy without this knowledge The whisky; Extremely dark colour and clearly heavily sherried. Reminded me of a dark Glenfarclas. A sweet nose, but no strong aroma. . Possibly would give off more if chambred. Apart from my initial sip with a couple of drops of water, I sipped it 50:50, which is my norm. This was outstanding in roundness. A very gentle dram, sweet and easy on the palate. I will definitely buy again, even without knowing age and recipe. I would, however, wish to know more detail.
