Berry Bros. Sherry Cask

The team at the legendary independent bottler Berry Brother's and Rudd specially selected a blend of sherry cask single malts to create this classic example of a well-sherried Scotch whisky.

It is one of the four offerings released as part of The Classic Range which was launched in the spring of 2018. It's great value for money and should be a treat for those who love a big sherry bomb.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Blood orange juice, brown sugar and dried fruit lead with a hint of charred pineapple and perhaps some rancio.

Palate Black fruit compote, herbal tea and a little bitter dark chocolate. Seville orange marmalade and fiery cinnamon add depth.

Finish Christmas cake notes remain.

Reviews for Berry Bros. & Rudd Sherry Cask Matured - The Classic Range
A bit of an odd one
To me, this blended Whisky has a bit of a weak nose with bonfire toffee, apple and cinnamon notes. Palate of liquorice and pastry crust followed by a lingering aftertaste of vanilla custard and winter spices. Overall, a Whisky which is just above being mediocre to me.

Full of Flavour
I am a fan of sherry conditioned whisky, I also like blended malts so this hits the spot for me and it will make a regular appearance in my whisky stash. A definite favourite.

excellent value
With 2 small ice cubes and a few minutes this is delicious, full of coffee and toffee flavours for me but I am sure we will all find something different in here I love it!

I quite like this
I quite like this. I consider it a mid-week whiskey which is nicely quaffable even though it is blended. It has a syrupy and well-rounded flavour and you really get the sherry.

OK but not great
Obviously there's a limit to how much you can expect for a sub-£30 whisky. It's "fine" for a house blend, or to use in cocktails etc but its really not that enjoyable on its own. I'd rather pay more for something nicer

fab sherried dram
plenty sherry in this, and a nice new bottle t'boot. it benefits from a small drop of water, which wipes the harsh edge from it. teaspoon is plenty.
lots of sherry, fruit and a nice warm xmassy finish. Fabulous value

Taken by suprise
I bought this on a whim, normally I'm a dedicated peat monster.

I had a splash and a whole new world opened before me. Intense flavours yet balanced as a whole

A very drinkable bottle and a pleasant change to the Islay malts I'm a fan of.

Not great
If anyone calls this a bomb it's pretty obvious they haven't been anywhere near proper sherry munitions (dronach, farclas, aberlour et al)
