Berry Bros. Peated Cask Bottling Note

A blended malt from the Berry Bros. & Rudd Classic Range, which has been assembled with a variety of single malt Scotch whiskies, and then left to mature in casks that previously held peated whisky. It's an inventive way to impart subtle smokiness to an expression, and it has worked well for Berry Bros. & Rudd.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sugared peels, honeydew melon, toasty peat with a hint of dried earth.

Palate: Continued bright fruit and soft smoke, now with hints of red Jelly Tots and butterscotch.

Finish: Lingering sooty notes.

top for its price!

A bright & clear bargain of a blend

This was without doubt my whisky bargain of last year. This deservedly should be more well known and represents staggering value.
Information on the bottle is limited, its 44.2% and without doubt natural colour despite no mention on the bottle. I have had several white wines that are darker than this. Its young but not harsh and the components work well together in whatever form they possess.
The main note for me is this indulgent creaminess which complements the peat smoke beautifully. Touch of melon maybe there too. Its not a fruity spirit and there is no sherry influence here at all.
A fantastic blended malt. 4 star whisky + 1 star for price/quality ratio.
