Description

This is a Benrinnes single malt double matured, first in refill casks for 15 years, followed by a 6-year second maturation in rejuvenated American and European oak wine casks, as well as rejuvenated casks with charred ends. It was bottled at 55.4% ABV and released as part of the Diageo Special Releases 2024 range.

Overall

An intentional complexity that bursts with a swelling crescendo: a fruity melody of over-ripe dark fruit, stewed pear, smashed fig and caramelised apple reverberates on the palate.

Yummmmm

(full disclosure) I won this in one of MoM's competitions, thank you MoM. Benrinnes is one of my favourite distilleries and this is absolutely delicious, tasting notes are spot on. Wouldn't have been able to taste it if not for wining the competition and wish I had the dosh to by another bottle. Scrummy. The only fault my friend and I could find was the rather dodgy tube and label, doesn't do the whisky justice. Thank you again O people of MoM.
