Benrinnes 14 Year Old 2012 (cask 7110) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)
Distilled at Benrinnes in 2012, this Speyside single malt matured for 14 years, including three years and eight months in a single Barolo wine barrique. The Italian red wine cask brings bright fruit and peppery spice to the distillery’s naturally full-bodied spirit, with ginger biscuits, apricot, salted caramel, and toasted oak all making an appearance. Alistair Walker bottled cask 7110 at its a cask strength of 57.4% ABV, with 282 bottles released.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted oak, gooseberry, kiwi, nectarine, and a tingle of peppery spice.
Palate
Ginger biscuits, ripe apricot, salted caramel, sweet pepper, and weighty malt.
Finish
Caramel, ginger, oak spice, and lingering stone fruit.
