Nose Warm spices, perhaps clove and nutmeg at the fore but soon overtaken by fruit and flowers. Apple, and perhaps even sweet lily. Lovely drying qualities from the Sherry butt are already coming through.
Palate Massive, smack-in-the-face, really good-clean sherry. More fruit rounded out with biscuit notes and cooked sugars.
Finish Lip smacking and deliciously drying. Rich flavours, toffee and dark chocolate linger but are cleaned with herbal and almost minty qualities.
Overall Benrinnes never fails to delight, and this is no exception. Amazing value for a truly special dram for those who love a sherried Speysider.
