Benriach's Cask Edition collection is a series of periodic releases, selected by master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie to showcase some of the Speyside-based distillery's most individual and unique cask types. This single malt was distilled in July 1998 and filled into a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon to mature for a generous 24 years, yielding a total of 587 bottles when it was opened in 2023.
Medjool dates. molasses and raisins on the nose with aromatic tobacco, chocolate, cherries and orange peel.
Wood tannin balanced by luscious sweetness: dried fruit and toffee notes. A splash of water brings out stewed apple and plum notes laced with spices.
Very long and rich with lingering fruit and almonds.
